Charles Moye
Owner and Principal Consultant

Charles has been working in fire protection and emergency services for over 45 years.  He has worked in municipal, county, and industrial workspaces as both a career and volunteer firefighter and chief officer.  He recently retired as both a chemical manufacturing site fire chief and a municipal volunteer fire chief.  Charles also spent several years working as a fire protection engineering consultant.  In his most recent role at the large chemical manufacturing site, Charles managed the emergency response team (including both career and volunteer responders), fire protection systems, and security.  The emergency response team was responsible for fire, hazmat, ALS EMS, and confined space/high angle rescue. He was also a member of the company’s national hazmat response team as a hazmat specialist.  Charles is certified as a firefighter, fire officer, fire instructor, hazmat technician, and EMT.  He also has a BS in Chemistry and a ME in Fire Protection Engineering.

Charles has looked forward to returning to offering consulting and training services after retirement.  His wide range of education, training, and experience has equipped him to assist his clients in ensuring excellence in emergency preparedness and response.  Whether developing new programs, enhancing existing programs, or pursuing long-term sustainability in loss prevention, Charles and the Emergency By Design team are prepared to assist your organization.
